“So, what do you DO all day?” is a question I’m often asked.
It’s amazing the assumptions people make on the lives of others. I’ve definitely experienced this, as someone who has taken a road-less-travelled.
“Good for you for homeschooling... I could never do that”— I guess this is supposed to be a compliment, except it infers that what I do is a sacrifice, and that I’m missing out.
Well. Let me tell you!
I decided to capture a typical day in my life, which was lots of fun to do, and helped me even deepen the gratitude I have.
In a typical day:
I receive many a picked flower.
I make many meals and snacks.
I play, I launder, I resolve disputes.
I read, I watch, I listen, I answer.
I walk a lot. I stop. I smelled flowers.
I work hard, and I play hard, and I don’t believe it’s the life for everyone.
But I am in love with this life. There have been harder times than this for sure, I am so proud of where we all are. This is the “hard” that I choose and would choose again and again.
I know this isn’t for everyone. But I wouldn’t trade my 3 year olds’ dandelion bouquets and hearing the endless musings of my 7 year old for anything 💕
